Pays attention to details of programming and quality of instruction
The ‘devil and angel’ of quality personal training lie in the details, hence
paying careful attention and being meticulous and organised can mean
success or failure, between excellence and mediocrity, between
stagnation and progress as a personal trainer. Programming can have
many components: cardiovascular endurance, weight control, strength
training, flexibility and sports specific training (coordination, speed, skill
acquisition). A good personal trainer adjusts the combinations according
the clients’ life activities, goals and needs. Under promise and over
deliver on the clients’ needs. A good personal trainer is attentive and
observant when instructing clients and is on a lookout for potential
dangers in the gym or exercise area. A good personal trainer is
conversant and apt with programme evaluation so as to fine-tune and
make adjustments to suit the client’s progress.
