Works with clients to set realistic wellness goals
What is realistic is dependent on (i) the genetic potential of the client,
(ii) the current state of wellness of the client, (iii) the time, motivation
and commitment that the client can afford, and (iv) the interaction effects
of (i), (ii) and (iii). A qualified personal trainer can develop a safe and
effective exercise and nutrition programmes that can produce sustainable
results. An important starting point is for the personal trainer to forge an
agreement on what is achievable during the period of engagement. A
good personal trainer is one who is great motivator and understands the
process and stages of change and is able to guide and provide support or
scaffolding to clients through the stages of change.
